A short-sleeved samfu top in a scenic jacquard, with a mandarin collar and five pearl-accented pankou (盘扣) knots down the front. The pattern is woven in rather than printed on, so it reads as texture up close and as a quiet tonal shirt across the room — traditional enough for the occasion, easy enough that he'll actually wear it.
Material: Silk-touch jacquard (90% recycled polyester, 10% viscose) over a soft recycled poly-blend lining — smooth with a subtle sheen, and it holds the straight samfu shape without stiffness.

How does it fasten?
With the five pankou (盘扣) knots down the centre front, each finished with a pearl accent. They loop closed one by one — there are no hidden buttons or zips. The mandarin collar (立领) sits closed at the neck without being tight.
How does it fit?
Relaxed and straight — a samfu shape, cut to hang rather than follow the body. Our model is 183cm with a 97cm chest and wears the L. The fabric doesn't stretch, so size by his chest, and expect room through the body rather than a close fit.
Does he need to tuck it in?
No. The hem is straight-cut and finished to be worn out, which is how a samfu top is meant to sit. Worn loose over trousers it stays tidy through a long meal.
Will he be warm in it?
It's lined, so it's warmer than a plain shirt, but the sleeves are short and the fabric is light — comfortable for air-conditioned restaurants and indoor visiting. For an outdoor lunch in full sun, he'll feel the lining.
What does he wear it with?
Stone, cream or ivory trousers, as the model wears it, with loafers or clean white sneakers for something easier. Dark navy or charcoal trousers also work and dress it down. Nothing patterned on the bottom — the jacquard is the detail.
How do I keep it looking new?
Wash cool with similar colours on a gentle cycle and hang to dry out of direct sunlight — close the pankou knots first so they don't pull at the fabric. The jacquard needs very little pressing; use low heat on the reverse, and go around the knots rather than over them.
