It's unlined and embroidered — is it see-through?

No. The cotton is woven closely enough to be non-sheer on its own, which is why it doesn't need a lining. The embroidery sits on the surface as texture rather than cut-out work, so there's nothing open in it.

Should I tuck it in?

Either, but the scalloped embroidered hem is the detail — tuck it in and you lose it. Worn out it ends at the top of the hip, which is where the scallops read best. If you want more shape, half-tuck just the front.

How does it fit?

Relaxed, like a proper shirt rather than a fitted blouse — there's a lot of room built in. Our model has a 32" bust and wears the XS. The cotton doesn't stretch, so size by your bust, and size down if you'd rather it sat closer.

How long is it?

22–24" (56–60cm) from the top of the shoulder to the hem. Our model is 167cm and wears the XS, where it ends at the top of the hip. On a shorter frame it will sit a little lower.

Does cotton like this crease?

It creases the way cotton does, but it only needs a light press rather than a full iron. Hang it as soon as it's dry and most of it drops out on its own.

What do I wear it with?

Tailored trousers and flat mules for work, so the embroidery does the decorating. Straight-leg jeans and sandals for weekends. Over a slip dress or a plain midi skirt, left open, as a light layer.

How do I keep it looking new?

Wash cool with similar colours on a gentle cycle, button it up first so the placket keeps its shape, and skip the dryer — cotton tightens with heat. Hang to dry out of direct sunlight. Press on low heat on the reverse, easing around the embroidery and the scalloped hem rather than over them.
