How do I choose his size?

Measure his chest and use the guide below, with age as a starting point only — children the same age vary a lot. Check the length in the chart too, so you know where the hem will sit. The cut is relaxed, so a little room is normal and intended.

Will it be scratchy or stiff?

No. It's fully lined, so the smooth lining is what touches him, and the jacquard is woven soft rather than crisp. The short sleeves and straight cut leave him free to move.

Does it need to be tucked in?

No — the hem is straight-cut and finished to be worn out over trousers, which is how a samfu top is meant to sit. One less thing to keep fixing through the afternoon.

Will he be too warm?

It's lined, so it's warmer than a plain t-shirt, but the sleeves are short and the fabric is light — comfortable for indoor visiting and air-conditioned restaurants. 

What does he wear it with?

Stone, cream or beige trousers, as the model wears it, with loafers or clean white sneakers. Navy or charcoal also works and makes it less dressy. Keep the bottoms plain — the jacquard is the detail.

How do I keep it looking new?

Close the pankou knots first, then wash cool with similar colours on a gentle cycle and hang to dry out of direct sunlight. It needs very little pressing — low heat on the reverse, going around the knots rather than over them.
