White eyelet, quietly detailed.
A sleeveless white maxi in embroidered eyelet, with a shirt collar, functional buttons down the front and a buckle belt at the waist. A soft floral print picks out the collar, the belt and the hem — small placements rather than an all-over print, which is what keeps it looking calm.
Material: recycled polyester in an embroidered eyelet — airy and textured, light to wear, with a lining underneath so the shape stays clean.
What you're probably wondering
Is it nursing friendly?
Yes. The buttons run the full length of the front and they work, so it opens properly rather than just at the collar. The buckle belt unfastens in a moment, and the skirt stays where it is.
It's white eyelet — is it see-through?
No. Eyelet is an open fabric by nature, but there's a lining underneath, so the dress is completely opaque as worn. No slip needed, and nothing to think about in daylight.
How long is it, really?
Between 50 and 52 inches from the shoulder, so it's full length rather than a midi. Our model is 158cm and it falls to her ankle. On a taller frame it will sit a little higher, closer to the top of the foot.
Which size should I take?
Go by your bust. The waist is cut generously and the buckle belt does the shaping, so that measurement matters far less. There's no stretch in the fabric, so if you're between sizes, take the larger one.
Will it be too warm for a whole day out?
It holds up better than you'd expect. The eyelet is worked as openwork, so air moves through it even with the lining, and the dress is sleeveless — which is why it works for an afternoon outdoors rather than just an evening.
Where would I wear it?
Garden celebrations, long lunches, holidays. Belted with sandals it's easy enough for a daytime event; belt off and worn loose it becomes a holiday dress. White with a small floral trim reads as considered without being formal.
How do I keep it looking new?
Light ironing on low heat, on the reverse so the eyelet isn't pressed flat. Wash gently and separately from darker colours, hang to dry in shade — white in particular is better kept out of direct sunlight — and keep it away from bleach and the tumble dryer.
