Soft yellow, quietly detailed.
A shirt dress in soft yellow, with folded short sleeves, a self-tie sash and an embroidered eyelet hem finished with a scalloped edge. It buttons all the way down, which makes it easy to get into — and easy to feed in, if that's the season you're in.
Material: a soft cotton blend — breathable to wear, with enough body to keep the skirt falling cleanly.
What you're probably wondering
Is it really nursing friendly?
Yes. The buttons run the full length of the front, so it opens properly rather than just at the collar. The sash unties and reties in a moment, and the skirt stays where it is — which is the part most shirt dresses get wrong.
Is it see-through?
No. It's fully lined and non-sheer, which matters more in a pale yellow than in a darker colour. Nothing needed underneath.
Does it have pockets?
Yes, set into the side seams. They sit flat, so they don't add bulk at the hip.
How long is it, really?
Between 42 and 43 inches from the shoulder, depending on size. Our model is 158cm and it falls just below her calf. On a taller frame it will sit a little higher — still a midi, closer to mid-calf.
Which size should I take?
Go by your bust. The sash shapes the waist, so that measurement matters far less. There's no stretch in the fabric, so if you're between sizes, take the larger one and let the sash do the rest.
How do I keep it looking new?
Light ironing on low heat, and iron the eyelet hem on the reverse so the scallops aren't flattened. Wash gently, hang to dry in shade — pale yellow in particular is better kept out of direct sunlight. No bleach, no tumble dryer.
