It's satin and unlined — does it cling or show lines?

Nothing shows through: the satin is non-sheer on its own, which is why it isn't lined. But satin is smooth and it skims the body, so it will trace whatever is underneath — smooth, seamless underwear makes the difference here, and a thin slip if you'd rather it skimmed less.

Does it crease easily?

Yes — satin creases, and this one needs pressing rather than a quick shake out. If you're travelling with it, roll it instead of folding, and hang it in the bathroom while you shower to let the worst drop out.

Does the waist stretch?

At the back. The front waistband is flat and clean so it sits neatly under a tucked top or a vest, and the back is elasticated for comfort when you sit through a long dinner. The satin itself doesn't stretch, so size by your waist.

How long is it?

35–36" (88–92cm) from the waist to the hem. Our model is 165cm and wears the XS — with heels it falls just above her ankle, and flat shoes will bring it closer to the floor. If you're shorter than 160cm, expect it near floor-length.

Are the pockets real?

Yes — two side pockets, set into the seams so they stay flat under the pleats. Big enough for a phone and an angpao or two.

What do I wear it with?

With the matching Yuan Man vest for reunion dinner or visiting, as the model wears it. On its own, a fitted cream knit top or a plain white shirt tucked in, with heels — the satin does the dressing-up for you.

How do I keep it looking new?

Wash cool with similar colours on a gentle cycle, or hand wash — satin marks easily, so keep it away from zips and rough fabrics. Hang it to dry by the waistband, out of direct sunlight. Press on low heat on the reverse while it's still slightly damp, and always use a cloth between the iron and the satin so it doesn't glaze.

Size by your waist. The satin has no stretch but the back waistband is elasticated, so between sizes, size down for a neater waist or up if you like it relaxed.
