Is it nursing friendly?

Yes. The buttons run the full length of the front, so it opens properly rather than just at the collar. The sash unties and reties in a moment, and the skirt stays where it is — which is the part most shirt dresses get wrong.

Is it see-through?

No — and it isn't lined either, because it doesn't need to be. Cotton denim is a dense, substantial weave, so it's completely opaque on its own. Leaving it unlined is also what keeps it cool enough to wear in the heat.

Does it have pockets?

Yes, set into the side seams. They sit flat so they don't add bulk at the hip or interrupt the line of the skirt.

How long is it, really?

Between 46 and 48 inches from the shoulder, depending on size. Our model is 158cm and it falls to her ankle. On a taller frame it will sit at mid-calf, which is where a midi is meant to land.

Which size should I take?

Go by your bust. The sash shapes the waist, so that measurement matters far less. There's no stretch in the fabric, so if you're between sizes, take the larger one and let the sash do the rest.

Where would I wear it?

It's the one to reach for when you haven't decided what the day holds. Buttoned up with flats for the school run and errands, sashed and worn with heels for the office, left open over a cami on a warm afternoon.

How do I keep it looking new?

Light ironing on low heat, and iron the hem on the reverse so the embroidery isn't pressed flat. Wash gently, hang to dry in shade, and keep it away from bleach and the tumble dryer.
