It's white — is it see-through?

Slightly, yes. The fabric is fine, it isn't lined, and the bib panel has openwork detailing which is part of the design. We'd wear it over a nude or white camisole. It isn't a top to throw on with nothing underneath, and we'd rather say so now than have you find out.

How does it fasten?

There's a small keyhole opening at the back with a single button. Otherwise it goes over the head — the high neckline is finished with a ruffle rather than an opening, so there's nothing at the front.

Which size should I take?

Go by your bust. It's cut straight and generous through the body, so it sits away from you rather than close. There's no stretch in the weave, so if you're between sizes, take the larger one.

How long is it?

Between 22 and 23 inches from the shoulder, so it falls at the hip. It's cut to be worn out rather than tucked in, though it tucks neatly enough if you'd rather.

What do I wear it with?

Tailored trousers or a midi skirt for the office, jeans on a weekend. A high neck, a ruffle and white already do the work, so everything else can stay very plain — and it sits well under a cardigan or blazer when the aircon is unforgiving.

How do I keep it looking new?

Light ironing on low heat, on the reverse so the openwork and ruffle aren't pressed flat. Wash gently and separately from darker colours, hang to dry in shade, and keep it away from bleach and the tumble dryer.
